So this card is not part of my Altenew Certification, but is rather one of the many cards I have made using Lavinia Stamps. I’m actually pretty new to Altenew but I have a large, and I do mean LARGE, selection of Lavinia stamps, stencils, inks etc. I believe at last count, I had about 300 stamps and all the stencils.
All these binders are full of Lavinia stamps. There are also other baskets full of the flora stamps as there are too many for the binders.

Here are all the Lavinia dye based inks. They are very rich colours and the stamp pads are very juicy.

The top 3 rows are Lavinia Acrylic Sprays and Mysticals, which are a mica infused spray. Some of the colours are so beautiful!!

Anyway, on to the card.
I had just purchased some Ranger texture paste and wanted to have a go with it. I used the Words 2 stencil from Lavinia and spread texture paste over the word DREAM. I was in a bit of a hurry (ok, I was just being impatient really) so I decided to use my heat tool to dry it. Well, it bubbled up but then I decided I actually liked that.

I then sprayed the cardstock (Lavinia Multifarious card, which is great for any really wet techniques) with various mica sprays, some Lavinia, some Distress Mica sprays and some from Lindy’s. I didn’t write down the colours because I hadn’t intended on blogging this card.
Once I had the colours the way I wanted, I stamped with 2nd and 3rd generation stamping using Versafine Clair inks in Monarch and Warm Breeze using some of the stamps from Lavinia’s Steampunk Collection. I also stamped with some bubble wrap for extra texture. I added a bit more texture paste in some areas, just swiping it on with a palette knife. When everything was completely dry, I used some Sizzix Luster Wax on the textured areas and tied it all up with a jute bow.

I didn’t want to just mount it on plain cardstock as it seemed to have more of a grunge/distressed vibe going on so I distressed the edges of the topper and mounted it on black cardstock and then mounted the whole thing on a piece of tea dyed burlap. The card base is a kraft cardstock.

All in all, I am quite pleased with the result, although it’s quite different from my usual style. I may have to do more of these!
Let me know what you think of it if you get a chance please. Is this a card you would be happy to put your name on?
